Nick’s Pizza Parlor & Bar is a restaurant concept created by Nick Vouras & David and Joanne Govatos.
Delaware native Nicholas Vouras formed the idea of Nick’s Pizza back in winter of 2018 while studying accounting at Cal State Northridge. After his freshman year, he came back home to Delaware and started venturing across the East Coast and Italy trying over 200 different types of pizzas and close to a hundred sandwiches to get inspired for his place.
Nick started Nick’s Pizza in 2021, selling pizza out of Kozy Korner, his father’s Wilmington diner, on a pop-up basis.
In 2023, Nick expanded to Newport, Delaware, opening an award-winning take-out location, taking home “Best Pizza” honors in 2024 from both Delaware Today & Delaware Online.
Always pursing a path to perfection in the kitchen, Nick has also developed an ardent following for his cheesesteaks, wings and other American parlor classics.
In 2025, Nick joined forces with husband-and-wife duo, David and Joanne Govatos to create Nicks Pizza Parlor & Bar, their love letter to the pizza parlors of the 1970s & 80s.
With 25 years of experience in the wine & spirits business and current owner of the celebrated wine shop Swigg, David oversees bar & beverage operations while Joanne manages the restaurant’s business operations and creative direction.
Together, the team is passionate about delivering exceptional hospitality and creating an exciting space where the community can come together.
